About the Author Founded in 1991, Vocal Point is BYU’s 9-man a cappella group. Although Vocal Point was originally founded by students, it was adopted into BYU’s School of Music and continues to entertain audiences with their lively renditions of well known songs.
Vocal Point competes annually in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella and placed first in 2006. Other years they have won the right to participate, but resigned because it took place on a Sunday. Vocal Point is currently competing on NBC’s “The Sing Off,” a nationally broadcast a cappella competition between 16 groups from across the US. The judges have loved the BYU signing group and so far have selected Vocal Point to move to the third round of the competition. Since its beginning, Vocal Point has produced multiple a cappella albums.
The most recent is “Back in Blue,” their release from 2011 in which they perform favorites such as “I’m Yours,” “September” and “Jump, Jive and Wail.”.

MUSIC VIDEOS. • 4 Assumption Posted by Ila Claire Lulndberg on 7th Dec 2015 I'm guessing about the rating. I bought this CD for a Christmas Gift, and didn't actually listen to itself, but I am a fan of Vocal Point so assumed it would be good. • 5 there's new meaning to the concept of 'voice box!' Posted by Barbara on 14th Apr 2015 These voices are hauntingly beautiful. The music has layers and depths that strike every chord of the soul.
It lingers in your mind and heart like a gentle breeze or sweet memory. • 5 love this cd! Posted by vickey pafford on 12th Feb 2015 I was so pleased with my purchase of the byu vocal point CD. It arrived much faster than I anticipated and the quality of he production does not disappoint.

Thanks for making this available. • 5 BLOWN AWAY BY VOCAL POINT! Posted by Floyd Watson on 1st Oct 2013 I became acquainted with this group through a Youtube presentation of 'Danny Boy.' I was so moved by not only their musicianship, but the heartfelt soul given each word. I have been a church musician myself for over 40 years, and a bit 'jaded,' when it comes to hymn performances of any kind. But these young men have breathed new life into my soul! I have only had the CD for four days, but have probably played it over 50 times!
I got back on the BYU site immediately and ordered more of their CD's.I just can't get enough of this talented group. If you are on the fence about buying one of their CD's, get out your wallet, you will not be disappointed.you will be lifted to a new 'high' like you've never had before! • 5 LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Posted by Diana on 13th Sep 2013 This is the best CD yet for Vocal Group. I just just this group! PLEASE TRY OUT FOR THE SING OFF AGAIN, if it comes on this season!
