Hi there I'm a fresh new owner of an Onkyo TX-SR607 and a Jamo S 608 HCS 3 system. Everything sounds great and since this is my first surround system, I'm blown away by the new sound quality. However, there are some issues which I don't understand. My Jamo fronts have two sets of connectors (there is a subwoofer integrated into their sides, which afaik is not being recognized as a full-blown subwoofer though - at least the auto configuration doesn't). How To Activate Windows Phone 7 On Hd 200.

I connected the upper connectors on the Jamo to the Onkyo's 'Front High' connectors, while the lower set is cabled to the regular 'Front' connectors on the Onkyo. In the Onkyo manual, it said to do so (connect Tweeters to the 'Front High', Bass to the 'Front'). Problem is, I don't really know which are the tweeters and the bass on the Jamo. The way it sounds, I connected it right, but I still feel like the subwoofers in the sides aren't really used - or if, only marginally. Did I do anything wrong? Also, I feel that the center is very dull i.e. When I'm in PLII.

They aren't broken, they sound right, and on some website it said to 're-setup the centers for that cause', but I can't figure out where in the Onkyo setup I can make the centers only sound less dull. The rest of the system sounds absolutely great (tried Sweeney Todd Blu-Ray to test the system, and I was blown away ) Thanks for your kind help! Hi and welcome to AVF. I don't know much bi-amping but you seem to have set yours up properly. That probably isn't meant to have a lot of noticeable effect anyway. If you've run Audyssey that ought to have got the balance of the speakers right, but you can always change that in the Settings menu.

Onkyo USA offers an elite line of audio/video and two channel receivers that will be the center of your home theater and audio experience. 3D, HDMI, internet.

Start at page 70 in the manual and juggle all the speaker settings there. Also make full use of the many settings under Listening Mode for each source type and item. The important thing is that it sounds right to you. Hey, here I am back again! Thanks for the help so far, especially to logiciel.

The Jamo speaker fronts have a really big subwoofer each. The fronts have two pairs of connectors, which I connected to 'Front' and 'Surr Back or Front High' on the Onkyo (as written in the Onkyo manual, if I understood it correctly).

I think the bass is usually fine, but it remains more or less weak if I turn it up to +10db. If I hold my head to the subwoofer, *some* low-frequency sounds seem to come out of it, but I don't even know if that's only because they're in the same case as the regular fronts are. Music, movies, they all sound more or less fine, so I guess I chose the connectors on the fronts in the right way.

Today I recognized that in the Onkyo setup screen, if I disable 'Bi-Amp' (what is that, anyway? Can anyone explain?) there is a list item saying 'Front High or Surr Back'. I connected one pair of the front speakers' connectors to 'Front High or Surr Back', and since 'Front High' sounds more realistic, I chose it. When I checked it in the speaker level setup (the one with the static sound on each speaker), there seemed to come a barely audible, really high static from the fronts. Bass seemed the same, though. Did I connect anything the wrong way?

Act Ir2000ul Windows 7 Driver. Did I choose wrong setup info? I seem to have pretty strong subwoofers - though included into the fronts and not active - why does it look like those aren't used, however I set the system up? A friend told me that those subwoofers just took the low frequency sounds of the regular fronts and that that's just the way they work. Is that right? If you guys need any pics or more detailed info, please don't hesitate to ask about it. I'll gladly provide that Thanks! That's OK, good to have helped.

Bi-amping is outside my experience but the explanation on page 19 of the manual is straightforward. It's basically about connecting speakers like yours that have separate woofer and tweeter connections. Each front speaker that takes bi-amping has a pair of terminals for the woofer and a pair for the tweeter. Both pairs need to be connected, woofer to Onkyo Front, tweeter to Surr Back. It sounds like at one stage you connected only one pair of each. Woofers aren't subwoofers They do take the lower frequencies though, as your friend said.

I really wouldn't expect to be able to distinguish the woofer's sound from the tweeter's. It's the overall effect that matters. HTH again - Logi. Hi I'd like to connect my desktop PC to the 607.

The main use would be to play music and the odd movie, occasional internet (iplayer etc) and to use some other applications that my notebook is too slow for (e.g. At present the PC only has a VGA output so I need to get a new graphics card, but I'm not sure it could handle a card with an HDMI output. As an alternative, I thought I could use a card with DVI output and connect to the 607 via a DVI - HDMI cable. The PC has a good audiophile stereo soundcard, so I was hoping to use this for the sound (not bothered about surround from the PC). My question is - can the 607 take video and audio from 2 different connections - (i.e. HDMI for the video and a stereo phono input for the audio)?

How do I set this up on the 607?
